Up and at ’em 5AM to fly out – it was -15 and we had collectively accumulated more than 12 feet of snow in my hometown.
It was coooooold for the majority of the trip but I got to wear sandles and there was no snow so win win.

This was soooooooo good. I like to try these wherever I think it won’t be sketchy. Best one I’ve ever had, even good cold. Sriracha aioli was YUM

Scallops were top notch with a ton of flavor! The roasted garlic tomato sauce was a big hit.

Shrimp Tacos
Lots of little grilled shrimp stuffed with slaw, pineapple pico and Sriracha aioli – 2 tacos super filling.

Walk-On’s – Waco TX
Awesome sports bar in Waco! When it’s warmer out doors open to the outside area. Good vibes and excellent wait staff. Tons of beers on tap if that’s your jam.
Seen the wildest shit here…..they have booths with draft taps right on the table! I’m not responsible enough to sit there LOL

You smell the food from the parking lot. My one goal when I came to Texas was to have some LEGIT real Texas BBQ. This place was epic. It’s one big hall with family style seating at picnic tables. When you walk in the door you are greeted with the pit and a plethora of meats
We had a couple margaritas and a few dressed Dos Equis.
Brisket & Pork Ribs – Brisket & Sausage
Bread, Pickles, Onions on the side
I can’t stress enough how fucking good this food was.
To finish this off….the BBQ sauce… you drench the meat in it….AMAZING. I ordered 6 bottles when I got home.

Moody TX
On our way back from Lake Belton we found a drive-thru beer barn…..no shit you can get anything right in your vehicle and margaritas to go! Helllllooooo thank you Texas.

Flying out of Austin stay at the Hyatt Place Austin Airport. Very clean, staff is awesome, have small bar on-site, breakfast bar in the AM, and light menu you can order from.
Texas was not what I thought it was land-wise. Every person I met was very polite literally every person. Yes sir yes ma’am you will hear that alot. Everything is so spread out and it does get cold there! I loved it would go back again for sure!
